I guess this is not new news....but I just want to talk shit. Isn't it ironic that in order to keep up with scientific discoveries (hence, reducing the gaps) christians and christian apologists have to keep re-interpreting the bible? I mean there is a group of christians at VCU who actually don't believe in the creation story as literal, however, they tell me that God was only telling them a story that they could understand and that modern western arrogance should not judge the creation story in the bible, it was only godspeak for the ignorant. Of course god could not explain to them the intricacies of evolution and cosmic evolution stemming from the big bang, they were idiots back then.
So basically, God, in his infinite wisdom could not see that within the next 2000 years after the death of christ, that humans would gain enough knowledge to understand or at least try to understand the birth of the universe, and if we do finally conclude that the big bang or the big bounce theory are true, then, we have essentially figured out god's creation formula. I mean seriously, it is arrogant for the christians to try to claim that god was speaking down to the people 2000 years ago. Fucking seriously...... they just can't let go of god...it is just amusing at this poitn.
