It smacks of desperation... you know what the evangelist types are like.  I'm sure they think they're saving their souls, but really they should be saving their pennies; unfortunate that they love putting their two cents in so frequently.

@azel, it's Google AdSense, normally a webmaster will add it to their site to bring in additional revenues. Google scans the keywords on a webpage and displays relevant ads based top keywords. The advertisers pay Google to show their ads on sites that match specific keywords. Most Atheist websites have strong keywords "Christian, Jesus, Bible, ..." mostly in opposition but Google can care less. Reason they don't care is because the advertiser has a set budget and Google takes money from their budget only on each click. Each click pays Google and the website hosting the ads. So, mostly when you see the ads and don't click it's free advertising for the Advertiser.

is that rely how it works with the the clicking on the adds? i have never heard of that. i thought that if they paid for them they get it posted to the sight

Anytime you see a christian ad on an athiest website (or any site really), click on it. It gives money to the site plus wastes the christians advertising money. The more everyone clicks, the faster it wastes their budget. This will eventually stop the ads across ALL websites temporarily :)
