This essay was just published on State of Formation, primarily a site for inter-religious discussion among theists in educational institutions.  The premise won't appeal to every atheist (or theist of course) but those of us who live and work with theists need to find some new, creative ways of presenting a viable alternative.  This is one I offer.

Yes, Anne.  State of Formation is primarily for discussion among theologically educated folk. With my seminary degree and many years of ministry I welcome the opportunity to mingle the ideas among theists, though I am no longer one.  My opinion is that those of us who are freethinkers need to be "free" to pass around thoughts and ideas with whomever we wish, theist or not, toward the "higher" purpose of reasonable education.  This is, in part, what assisted my emergence from super-natural thinking.  Thanks for the comment.

Nice article, an anthem to naturalism.  It is a secular seed planted among what appears to be a religious forest. I may be mistaken but a quick look makes it seem that State of Formation leans quite theist.  I tend to feel skeptical about PhDs in divinity from religious institutions.
