Take a stand against Salvation Army's Bigotry, Hate and Discrimination

A friend sent me this article and idea.  http://americablog.com/2012/11/salvation-army-vouchers-to-download-...

Article include 'Vouchers' you can print out and place in the Salvation Army red kettles and also give to their Thrift Store Managers. If you give $$$'s to them, a large percent of the $$$'s go to pay lawyers that enforce hate measures - a very small % goes to help those who truly need assistance. Discriminating against others, masked by religion, is still Bigotry.

Personally, I think Bell Ringers placed directly at stores entrances is psychological harassment. When I just want to go shop for TP and bananas, why should I be guilted into replying to their saying Merry Christmas to me when I enter and also leave stores.

But what a clever marketing strategy by Salvation Army to be 'visible' and 'represent the spirit of Christmas' with the in-your-face strategy. I wish truly caring non-profits would demand that they get equal share of the sidewalk too, ha.

I agree.  It sure feels like harassment to me!

Back in 2003, when a tornado ripped through my neighbourhood and destroyed my home (just after I got out of being homeless, and making me homeless again), the Salvation Army came up in our neighborhood distributing hot meals (and appropriate literature).

I (gently) refused their help. I have never supported the Salvation Army, because it is a Christian church.

On the other hand, I went round the neighborhood checking on neighbours, clearing rubble, and in one case got food for one, along with an ad-hoc committee of those of us who were able to do so. No religion, just neighbours helping neighbours. And no literature.
