19 Year Old Tunisian Female Activist 'Amina Tyler' Reported Missing and threatened by Islamist Cleric after posing topless as a sign of protest for women's Freedom.

19 year old Tunisian Amina Tyler, posted a topless photographs of herself on an International Feminist Activist Group FEMEN which had the slogan “my body belongs to me, and is not the source of anyone's honour” as a sign of protest for the freedom and rights of women in Tunisia, which itself is in a struggle for a survival of its own freedom.

This has already caught the attention of Islamist cleric Adel Almi, president of Al-Jamia Al-Li-Wassatia Tawia Wal-Islah, there in Tunisia, who has called that Amina be given 80 - 100 lashes as well as be stoned to death according to the Sharia Law, saying that Amina's actions will bring misfortune by causing "epidemics and disasters" and "could be contagious and give ideas to other women..." (You've got to be kidding me, what with a mindset like that!)

Previous reports stated that she was put into a psychiatric ward, but fresh reports state that she has been reportedly gone missing. Currently there seems to be conflicts going on but whatever is the case, as secularists, we cannot tolerate the level of extremism such clerics display who're ready to execute people for what is actually a protest for one's freedom of their own conscience.

Islamic extremism does not have any place in the 21st century. It's an all out faulty system, that not only is barbaric, of a stone-age thinking but also is a great hindrances towards the freedom of rights for everyone!

Many Feminist activists, humanists, liberals and atheists, including the prominent atheist scientist Richard Dawkins, have called for an international day of support for Tyler, on April 4. There has been a petition launched at Change.org demanding the Tunisian Government for the safety of Amina (You can sign the petition here: Petitioning Tunisian Government : Amina must be safe ). So far the response has been tremendous and as of this time of writing, the numbers have already reached more than 72,000!

There are many more out there like Amina Tyler, who're continuously struggling for a better future and the degree of freedom they yearn for. This needs to be brought into the spotlight time and time again and due action must be taken for their safety.

Believe me, I could understand the difficulties of being an Atheist or speaking out against Islam in an Islamic country. Even more unfortunate is the lack of support received from the global Atheist community. Until there's enough support - all they can do is run and hide or being captured, prosecuted and possibly killed.
