Makes me sad to think that most people waste so much of their time, energies & monetary resources on religion related activities like attending churches, doing mass prayers or listening to the inane sermons etc. But sametime I wonder what they might do with the time released from these preoccupations if they opt to be secular. Females might indulge in more gosssip, suffer depression and males might drink excessively, gamble and seek other unhealthy ephemeral pleasures. So there are opportunity costs in choosing skepticism over religiosity. They have to forego the certitude of protection in this life and afterlife and the benefit of ultimate justice to their enemies. Also they wouldn't know how to structure their discretionary time if you take away religion from them. More number of people might lose their sanity if they have time to kill. It's not as if these people would spend that time doing research meriting a noble prize or some work benefiting society at large. So I say : let the Hindus go to visit Balaji's idol or Amarnath cave or Manasarovar and drown in their religiosity, let the Catholic Christians visit Lourdes in France or Banneux in Belgium, let the Muslims go for Hajj in Mecca and circumambulate the Kaaba, drink from the Zamzam well, throw stones at the Devil and shave their heads for all I care, as long as they do not hurt other people by flying airplanes into tall structures.

Thanks for your comment. You are spot on. But if the theists are hell bent on condemning us to an eternity in Hell, I don't mind condemning them to eternal stupidity!  But seriously, in my experience, trying to convince people that they are running after an illusion is an enervating and thankless job.

“It is useless to attempt to reason a man out of a thing (Religion) he was never reasoned into.”
― Jonathan Swift

So I say, if they have this compulsive need to suck on the pacifier/dummy of blind faith, it is their funeral. I am not my brother's keeper!

Unforseen consequequences, certainly...

But you do realize that you are condemning theists to eternal stupidity, innate inferiority...

And you are also disregarding known consequences......
