Life's too short to get involved with things that aren't real.

I was bought up with religion and had to attend Sunday school and church which is the most boring thing any one can do. I guess I am a realist and fiction is not my thing. I just take life as it comes, death is inevitable and the natural conclusion. Nothing is immortal all though  primitive minds still think there is a way .

Amen to "Life is too short"!  It's beyond me why people bury their heads in religion--and their cell phones, etc.! There's a REAL world out there, folks! Embrace it!  Oh yes, welcome!

Agreed that life's too short to get involved with things that aren't real. Problem is, the are many others around us who want to forcibly drag us into their world of unreality. As to fiction, while I'm not a great fan of that genre, I recognize there are many things that can be learned from great fiction. Orwell's 1984 for example. I recognize and am cognitively aware that Oceania does not exist. Yet, the principles on which that society was based are actively at work in the world, and need to be just as actively opposed.

Personally, I don't mind fiction and especially science-fiction, which I enjoy a lot ... but I know the difference between fiction and fact and especially between bullshit and fact.  Those who want to promote the bullshit which is religion around me will get about as much rhythm as a hole in the head.

Greets and salutes, Mike.
