I have not been as active lately here at my first home as an atheist. Rest assured I am not gone.

There are a couple of reasons for this. Primarily my 16 year old son has a rare bone disease and has had to have the first of two total knee replacements.

The second reason that the people here have given me new confidence. I regularly post on Facebook and other sights answering questions about atheism and Christianity. When I first started here I was afraid so I used Compelledunbeliever to hide my identity. After over a year with this  community I now often post as David La Deau. I am fond of the moniker Compelledunbeliever so I still use it in various places.

It is great educating people about atheism. I have not found any community that is as intellectually minded or as polite as this group. Most of the contacts I have are all over the place and really have no idea what they are talking about. I have to explain terminology, definitions, and their religion to them before we can have a conversation. Not so here at my true home where I come to learn.

I will be busy with my son for the next few months so I may not be as active, but I am still watching post. I just want to sincerely thank all of you for having the biggest and best impact on my life of any group of people I have ever known. Keep up the good work!

It should go without saying that your kid comes first, bro.  If you can manage to budget sometime here in the midst of what has to be a mind-straining debacle, then terrific.  If not, no worries.  Your account will be waiting for you when you when you're ready to go.

Meantime, my very best to you and yours.
