Sitting here eating scrambled abortions and toast.

I'm so infuriated with the country I live in. Yes, I live in the land of the "free". It seems that the Bush administration has decided that tapping the phone lines wasn't enough of a crazy idea to infringe on our personal rights. The administration has now decided that "some" forms of birth control will be considered "abortions" and that health care providers may now choose to refuse birth control!!! I'm curious, how long before condoms are denied to the public because they are also a form of birth control? How long before the gov't decided to fine women who have had their monthly cycles? What about hysterectomies?! That's a lot of abortions!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh-oh fruitloop! If you're fixed you have not only killed a gazillion billion of little sweet behbehs, but you are officially a non-woman. Didn't you get the memo? Skipping baby-having makes baby jeebus cry.
Yum, baby jeebus on toast (or crackers) makes for a healthy and delicious breakfast :p

Scrambled abortions and toast! YUM! I think that's what I'll have for dinner. You have a way with words! :)
Thanks for the entry, too. Because I've been "fixed".. how many abortions is that!? Will I go to jail now? This country is so INFURIATING. We are losing rights so fast it isn't funny!

but but tax dollars go to faith groups that brainwash little kids and I don't want it going there!

The government needs to get out of churches and vaginas, damnit!

Well apparently the biggest argument is that people don't want their tax money going toward the cost of birth control for low income women.

I say... Fine! Let them have their way! Do they think that once these women are pregnant, they won't rely on tax money for the thousands of dollars that go into prenatal care?

When I had gotten pregnant with my daughter, I was on medicaid. The only medical expense I had to pay for was the at home pregnancy test that I had taken.... $5 bucks for two tests at Family Dollar! I didn't pay for the ultrasounds, prenatal vitamins, the weekly doctors appointments.. I wasn't charged for the room I stayed in for 3 days after she was born, or the food I consumed in the hospital. Medicaid was even charged 12 dollars for two tylenol I was given. Tax payers paid for these services.

I was on publicly funded birth control the entire time I was in college. I graduated! Got off the system funded by tax payers. As a tax payer, I want this option available to other low income women.

I guess I don't understand this line of thinking.... WTF.

I've been steaming for weeks because of these news. I heard about it the same day I got my 3-year contraceptive implant. Apparently, I'm a lean, mean, baby killing machine.
Also, I've talked to women who take contraceptives to control fibroid problems, crippling pain, etc. who have been denied contraceptives by godbot pharmacists. Don't know how they managed not to strangle those assholes.

The title of your post lured me in...but WOW! I'm firmly convinced Bush and his thugs are just doing whatever they can with their last months in office to not go down as being utterly useless (thought I don't see how this helps). First he tries to kill the fourth amendment, tries to pass all those exploratory oil drilling regulations and now this bullshit pandering to whatever group he's trying to impress...hell in a handbasket comes to mind.

If this comes to pass and actually stick everyone will be effected somehow or another, not only women (the federal government really needs to get the hell out of your uterus...what are they doing in there anyway?!).

Here's hoping whomever takes his seat in January has a little more sense, decency and respect for the people of this country. If not we are seriously in trouble.

Land of the free indeed! *waves flag, pukes a little*
