When people assume I am a theist, I usually correct them and say "I'm an atheist." Usually, they usually stop assuming, or at most get offended like I just confessed I eat babies or am a satanic priestess. The demand to know at that moment "What?! You don't believe in God, Why?" There is usually no pause after that, but it is filled with a rant (if they are Christian) about how Jesus (AKA God) came down and died for your sins and loves YOU personally...
When pressed like this what do you say?
Here is usually what I say:
There are so many gods/goddess that claim to be real, yet none of them have came down and proven their existence without a doubt. THAT is the main reason. If I am to base my life on something, why shouldn't I bullshit test it first before basing my life on it?
