We all differ in our ability to participate in the lives of others but we all have the opportunity, the choice, to participate in the lives of others more fully than we do now.

And yet we don’t do it out of fear, out of ambivalence to the suffering of others and because we tell ourselves that we are too busy and our own lives too messed to help others. Yet, all that it takes is to reach out without fear and to care, a simple embrace, to share food, and to listen.

I am busy, I have my own burdens, but I chose to care about others and even though I do not know you, I care about you and if you reach out I will listen, I will care, and if I can, I will help.

Miguel -
Hey there - I was reading this and I thought back to a unit I taught in 8th grade American History. I found the link to it - you should watch it. It has a lot to with this post.

When my life is over, I hope I can look back and be pleased not with my status in life, but with the relationships I have had and the people I have touched. That is what really matters.
