Scientists Create Blood From Stem Cells

Scientists have used embryonic stem cells to generate blood -- a feat that could eventually lead to endless supplies of type O-negative blood, a rare blood type prized by doctors for its versatility.

"We literally generated whole tubes in the lab, from scratch," said Robert Lanza, chief science officer at Advanced Cell Technologies.

This is pretty incredible. And of course, God would never want us to do something like this--to save all those lives. It is infinitely annoying to me to have my sense of awe and wonder at things like this tainted by the knowledge that religious idiots will fight tooth and nail to stop this kind of progress.
