Hey everybody,

Just writing to tell you about our upcoming guest speaker. PZ Myers will be speaking in the Tivoli Turnhall on Friday,September 12th from noon until approximately 2pm. The topic of discussion is Science education: caught in the middle in the war between science and religion.

Myers is a Professor of Biology at the University of Minnesota Morris and author of Pharyngula, and online science blog. He is a prominent critic of creationism and intelligent design, and was one of the scientist fooled into being interviewed for Ben Stein's film Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed. Ironically, he was subsequently barred from attending a pre-screening of the film.
