It's really important to do justice to what one's opponent has got right. 

When I see a viewpoint criticizing something, I may mostly agree with the criticisms.  But still, I want to express what of justice there is in what's being criticized. 

People ignore that in polarized discussions.  I see that in skeptics vs alt-med believers.  The skeptics like to make the points that make alt-med believers look the most foolish.
