It's the day after my 70th birthday and, strange, I feel the same.

Well, maybe I'm a little more depressed, but that's because of the 10" of snow we got overnight! Normally around my birthday, I begin to show signs of Spring allergies. The grass is green, etc. But not this year. Nothing but white!

And last year at this time, I had just returned from Wash. D.C. and the "Reason Rally". That was my birthday present to myself. I was fired up to spread the word--ATHEISM!

This years self birthday present was my new red truck. It sits in the garage longing to see the world. If only it could get out. I'll be shoveling snow all day. Or should I? If I wait long enough, it'll melt.

Ah Spring.

Randall, and other survivors,

One HUGE advantage of age: we no longer have to follow rules we once did.

I don't rob banks or do other things to attract the law's attention (except maybe by protesting things that humanity requires, and a bit of financial independence allows, me to protest). I can however set my own hours and if I choose stay up until my eyes close without my consent. In short, I'm loving retirement. Yeah, good health helps.

I hope you're enjoying retirement.

Randall, Happy birthday. Believe me, it get better after 70!. I am 77 and I have never been happier than I am right now. Oh, a few health problems, but I like being 77.
Oh, let the snow melt; 50 years from now who will know the diference? A hot wind will come through and take it all away in half a day, I hope.

Glad to learn you have a new red truck; Happy trucking!

Happy Birthday Randall!  You've seen a few springs before - you know this one will come.

My last b-day present to myself was a Linden tree.  And permission to self to start a beehive.  Which was connected to the Linden, because Linden nectar is excellent for honey.

This Winter's present (not for a birthday) was a Saijo persimmon and a Nikita's Gift persimmon.  That 2nd one is an American/Asian hybrid.  May we live long enough to taste the fruit....

Happy birthday again!
