As a the owner of a knowledge business with over 50 employees, I recently had to enact a company anti-harassment policy to ensure that none of my employees discriminated against any "protected groups". I also had to publish a policy that identified the "protected groups". I find it interesting and funny that "religion" is listed right there alongside physical handicaps and mental retardation! I have to confess though that although I employ physically and mentally handicapped people, people of all ethnicities, gender preference groups, nationalities and religions I have the greatest problem not viewing the latter as a red flag for someone who is a little too unquestioning to be a really good employee in my company. Needless to say, I made sure the policy outlawed proselytizing of any kind!
