I would like to know if you feel a greater sense urgency having children in an environment of those who don't except atheism? Did you decide after having children or before having children to live in a place like a city that may prove less provocation from the religious speakers? Maybe you decided to move to a more open minded state. What is your hopes, fears and challenges?

From this blog it sounds like Michigan has two atheist at least. :) I know that people should not post a sign in front of there houses with all of there beliefs and political views. Life just shouldn't be so cruel for those who truly want a peaceful life.

Thank you John D, I think your answer is kinda what I expected. The level of our income, the diversity of the community, educationally experienced, and intolerance to crime could all be factors in giving a child an opportunity in life.
