After a trip to the OB this morning to potentially set up a hospital induction, the wife was far enough along for the midwife to come out and break waters. Waters were successfully broken at 2:30 pm.

Now it's just the last leg of the "hurry up and wait" game as we anxiously await good contractions and heavy labor. This part can take a few hours before there's any real progress of note, but we can be certain of one thing. This baby will make her debut in the world either tonight or tomorrow morning.

If I don't post in the next few days, it's because I'm busy being a doting father.

Try not to take over the world without me while I'm gone (or at least if we do, save me some cookies!).

Update 1: from my iPod on hospital network. Broke waters at 2:30 pm. Traces of merconium (sp?) in waters. Baby started to worry us a couple hours ago. Midwife came over and hearttones were a little low. Combined with the merc. Midwife suggested hospital and we agreed. Checked in at 8:20 pm. Hearttones are fine now but we're all feeling good about the decision. That's all for now. Sounds like they're prepping for some pitocin. I'll update as I can
