Menus for easy swallowing is a new challenge and one I am not well equipped from experience to meet.

The reality is, I explore options and need some brainstorming partners. Remember when I had cancer, and so many of you were on my Cancer Team, encouraging, advising, teaching me how to proceed? Now I ask for a Foods To Nourish Cary Team.

beef, chicken, or fish stock;

mashed potatoes cooked in homemade stock;

vegetables pureed but not to baby food texture; Cary doesn't tolerate that;

cottage cheese

hard boiled eggs, finely  diced

hamburger, steamed rather than fried, baked,

That is a good idea, perhaps he will enjoy the taste of split pea or lentils and a delicious stock. He used to like these homemade soups.

I made a chicken stock today, then cooked potatoes in it. The first go-around, it was too lumpy so I processed it even though he doesn't like processed foods. I put it in three one-cup jars, thinking small amounts might be better. When he came back from today's testing he ate all three.

I made some pureed beets yesterday and didn't pickle them. He loves pickled beets. If he requests them pickled, I can always do that with the next batch.

He likes hummus. Tomorrow I plan to make a banana cream pudding, his favorite is the pie.

I hadn't thought of not drinking water or fluids before meals; of course, that makes sense.

That article, "Esophageal Cancer: Nutrition During and After Treatment" gives me helpful information, Thanks, Daniel.
