Satya Sai of Puttaparthi is undoubtedly the most publicized and the biggest supernaturally powerful (?) saint of present day India. Among his devotees are eminent people and that enhances his popularity as a ‘true Godman’.

Pardon my probably quite stupid question, but did he die just now? I read most of the linked article and I couldn't tell for sure.

I posted this new on Facebook a few days ago, with the observation that if he'd chocked to death on one of those gold ingots he used to vomit up  that would have been really ironic.

From an anthropological standpoint this is an excellent opportunity to see how a myth can be created, we know Baba was a fraud. His devotees don't or don't care, so I wonder what will become of his legend now it can have the barest relationship to verifications since he's no longer here.
