I arise with the dawn of time from the grey and misty sea, and with the dusk, I sink in the Western ocean.
My view of death is a positive one. I believe in reincarnation, and I regard death as part of the cycle of life, death and rebirth. I believe that the souls of the dead rest for a while in what is called "Summerland" before going on into another life.
I do not believe in the doctrine of sin and redemption as the Christians do. I believe that souls return to Earth again and again with many reincarnations.
Many fear death because it appears to be the end. If we face death without fear, we can live life to the fullest.
To me, death is a gateway through which I must pass; the seed of my death are contained in my life. I believe in the Horn God whose name is: "The Lord of Death and Resurrection." It is He who will guide me through the gates of death and into the realms beyond. He is the Lord of liminition and endings, just as the Goddess is the Lady of Expansion and Beginnings.
Yur see, without death there would be no process of change, no aging, no expirence, no birth, and no rebirth. To me, death is the end of one phase and the beginning of another. Death is the visible part of life. When death comes to me, I want to be prepared. I want to know exactly what I want done when I die.
To me, death is a piece of life, not its end. I was born. I will die. I will be reborn into a different life. My body will decompose and feed the flowers that feeds the soil that feeds the crops that feeds the livestock that feeds all.
This the facts of Life and Death. When I die I will become a part of something else that lives. When I die I will fully rejoin Creation. I will be getting back into that ancient cycle.
I want a Natural Burial. I do not want my body to be filled with embaling fluid. I want my body to be buried in a biodegradable coffin, such as pine. I do not want to be buried in a steal vault. I want a pine box.
So Mote It Be.
