I saw the guy who wrote Proof of Heaven on 20/20 the other night. It's funny how nobody "sees Heaven" unless they're on the verge of death, or on drugs.
Another thing I've noticed is that at any church I've been to, most of the members used to be on drugs, were alcoholics, depressed, or a combination of those. They turn to religion because those three things, alone or together, make you extremely dependent on others. They get gullible and desperate, and have "religious" experiences (aka their brains are seriously messed up by now), and there you have it: a born again Christian.

That's the story of almost every Christian's life, unless they were just raised in church and seriously brainwashed.

Here's the ABC News link again. Neuroscientist See's Proof of Heaven.

Yes. There's a documentary on NetFlix, DMT: The Spirit Molecule.  A brain, flush with DMT near death, sounds like our culprit here.  vast time, "infinite patterns", strange lands & beings... all symptoms.

I've said this before and will repeat: when the human brain is malfunctioning and is literally on the cusp of a FATAL malfunction, why is it that we should give ANY credence to any form of sense or internal perception?  As the brain goes, so go the senses which report to the brain; the interdependency of the two is well established.  If my balance and visual sense occasionally get distorted when I stand up too quickly, how much more distorted will they become when my blood pressure is dangerously low and my body's ability to sustain itself is on the verge of collapse?

It's bad enough that anyone buys into such crap, but when a neurosurgeon indulges in it ... let's just say I'd find someone else to deal with a brain tumor!
