Thanks for posting the article, it does provide some perspective. I still don't quite get it, as to how this maintains separation of church and state. I guess that Obama's skills as community organizer come into place here. His rhetoric is inclusive for atheists, so that's encouraging. He still seems a vastly better choice than both his predecessor and the alternatives, so I remain supportive in my own small way. Possibly, by making the office faith-based AND neighborhood (influence of Chicago politics) and also faith AND secular, this waters down the religious and takes the concept onto a more volunteer organization and local level, without antagonizing the religious groups or further empowering them. In addition, if secular groups do not step up to the plate, now that they are included, they will have only themselves to blame? Random thoughts here.
