"I Know What Boys Like

We are this close to the midterm elections and the goddamn GOP is about to close it hard on irrational fear.

Isis and Ebola.

Fear porn.

How did we get here?

Completely random elaborately imagined clusterfucks that would not survive the advent of oxygen or sunlight if applied.  I am sick to death of fear masquerading as politics.

As reason.

The phenomena says two things about the American electorate.  Neither one is pretty.  The first reveals that by and large, most of us are dumb as fucking sticks.  Exasperatingly gullible.  The second one is not much better.  It says that progressive, forward thinking people are still too goddamn lazy or passive to muster a counter offensive to such ridiculous bullshit.

It’s unbelievably absurd that this late in the game, republicans can so conveniently and confidently count on the stupid, that they can actually be an efficacious tipping point in these midterm elections.  It’s unreal to me.  I’ve seen it happen over and over in my lifetime and I still can’t believe it.  Republicans call on the idiots and they show up in droves and democrats sit at home because they just aren’t quite afraid enough.

I am in awe.

The Orcs mass at the drawbridge while the democrats enjoy the first course of baby arugula with gorgonzola and candied almonds and a delightful raspberry vinaigrette.  We hear there is some sort of garlic roasted chicken on the way.

We’re so arrogant and complacent, so self righteous and magnanimous to imagine that our celebration and luxury of the upper moral hand is a luxury that we have somehow earned and much, much worse, deserve.

The teabillies will not win this election, we will lose it.

If it goes badly this November, it won’t because they lied and thieved and stole every vote they could.  It won’t be because they cheated an disenfranchised minority democrats and women.  They can and will do all these things. They are doing all these things.  They are enabled by the highest court in the land.  It is absolutely rigged by ugly, shameless, racist justices.  It’s awful and disgraceful and completely true.  The hypocrisy of the highest court in the the land is invasive and cloying.

There remains no question that in this age of entertaining the notion of impeaching and prosecuting the president of the United States, that we should instead be legitimately evaluating the impeachment and prosecution of various members of the supreme court for reasons far more compelling and egregious.

Over half of the highest court in the land is occupied by bought and paid for by good old boys.  They attend, speak and acquire remuneration from the filthiest of the filthy.  They never even contemplate recusal.  Profoundly corrupt as evidenced by their decisions as much as their abject failure to decide.  I am so with the notorious RBG.  She’s my heroine.  Otherwise, they are a scorch as well as a scourge on democracy and perhaps the single best reason to get your ass to the booth.

Having said that, if we lose, it will be because not enough of us showed the fuck up.

If voting in America were compulsory, no one would ever give a mad fuck what the 99% thinks or even wants.  No contest.  We would be a true social democracy and the bastards would still be rich as hell but they would not be in a position to rob us blind.  To suck every last drop from us.  To dictate social policy.  To shame the most stupid among us into voting against their own best interests because of christian family values.  To sell us so much fear and distraction that so many actually believe that Ebola and Isis are an actual credible threat to day to day life.

The idea that Isis or Ebola represent an existential threat is the property of obtuse.

It is the silliest and most illogical nonsense I have ever witnessed and yet, it’s working.

If we lose it’s because we are in an irreparable state of moron.

Once again, America takes my breath away.

First of all, I failed to acknowledge that Brain Spank alerted me to this site and someone else alerted me to Brain Spank. I was in such a hurry to get this on my blog that I failed to give proper attribution. If you are the one that shared this link with me, please let me know and I will give attribution to you.

Now, chaos really means opportunity is knocking at the door. The pot is beginning to boil, and it is the heat of that cultural pot that stirs things up and causes activity. The activity may lead to replacing the old corrupt politicians and bankers with new corrupt politicians and bankers. This I learned from Michael Richter who lives in China and a delightful friend on Facebook. We can do better than that.

What I learned from life experiences is that chaos/conflict is opportunity knocking. Something needs to change. The heat doesn't define the problem nor does it offer a solution. It just means change is in the wind.

"The crises of our time, it becomes increasingly clear, are the necessary impetus for the revolution now under way. And once we understand nature's transformative powers, we see that it (crisis) is our powerful ally, not a force to be feared or subdued.
Thomas Kuhn

OK, so the pot is boiling and people evidence more fear as we get closer to a mid-term election. Is that a surprise? It shouldn't be. Fear is all that the Republican Party and Tea Party have to offer. Well, we are intelligent and recognize the ploy and lots of others do too. We just do not know about the others. How are we going to find them? We will find some in our own A/N community. However, there are many more in the world out there. How do we reach them?
As Michael Douglas stated:
1. "most of us are dumb as fucking sticks.  Exasperatingly gullible".
2. "progressive, forward thinking people are still too goddamn lazy or passive to muster a counter offensive to such ridiculous bullshit."
These are two of the aspects to which we can address first. We are not dumb. We know the threats of Ebola and ISIS. Progressives are able and willing to think and act when they know the nature of the problem and have the will to take action.
Now, we know what our job is.
1. Dumb? gullible? Ebola is a disease that has the capacity to spread very quickly and can be deadly. That we know. We also know there are things we can do to protect ourselves and there are changes that need to happen at the national level. Educate our people about protecting oneself from virus attacks is one. Preventive measures include precautions, safeguards, and safety measures against Ebola. These are reasonable and obvious things we can do. Let the fear of an outbreak go. We know what we have to do, and we know that life depends on pure luck, sometimes.
In addition, we know our government must take a lead in fighting this disease in Africa.  Bombs and bullets are not the tools needed for this battle. Educate the African people through alliances with African leaders ... not the ones who follow the dictates of the Pope, but the ones who have their heads in science. Sanitation, potable water, transportation, fast access to treatment centers, etc. This kind of effort needs to be as focused as pilots targeting drones with bombs. The focus has to be on health, sanitation, avoid crowds, prevention, and treatment. Use guns if this effort has to be protected, but the major thrust of this campaign needs to be education of the African people and getting the resources needed to them as the virus mutates and spreads.

2. Progressives are lazy and passive? Well, some may be, some have their heads in the sand. Some deny anything unusual is happening (let's not get into global weather change quite yet.). Each one of us has the sensory organs to be able to see, hear, feel the severity of the problems connected to the fears of disease and terrorists. We have the ability to articulate the problems and participate in seeking solutions, and taking actions necessary to protect ourselves and spread information here and abroad.

Ruth is to be commended for bringing this to the attention of A/N and keeping us up to date. We can share her findings with our families and friends, not to alarm them and be fear mongers. We can spread information about the disease and its prevention.

We are not victims in this fear campaign. There are things we can do and then let go. There is no god to do our work for us. It is up to people.

Let me tell you what's happening here. There are people in bath houses with Ebola and they secretly want to infect you, so they have these rings and when you shake hands with them . . . . .

Oh, you say that didn't happen. If Pat, the robber son, could get way with it once I thought we could try it again. God damn the politicians for spreading this crap as well. People are so afraid of a black president that now Obama is going to declare martial law because of Ebola. ( I guess he's just waiting for a good excuse.)

Ebola is spread much like HIV/AIDS. Sneezing on you won't do it. You have to actually be in contact with bodily fluids directly or indirectly from fluids on clothing  or bedding in a short period of time. A small open wound area or kissing, etc. might infect you but not just because you think the germs went airborne. If what people believed was really true then Ebola could get us just because others in the world had it and it traveled here. This is not the case.

Even so, my insurance lady went to the doctor recently with flu like symptoms. She told me that she was afraid she might have Ebola.

You Tube continues with ideas of how Ebola in America will lead to Obama declaring martial law. How much more fear can be spread because a black man won the presidency? What the hell is wrong with all these moronic people?
