Free will should just utterly defeat the purpose of fate but yet they still find a way to mash em both up together in some uneasy truce.

Okay, that is what I thought you must have meant, but I had to make sure before I commented further. I agree that this idea of free-will is used to get god off the hook for mankinds ill actions. It seems the idea of free-will is often used to take the blame off of god and put it on the individual in a attempt to try to keep as much ill actions of of their precious god concept as possible. But it doesn't take the blame off of god for natural disasters.

I have been involved in the free-will debate for some time now, and I have yet to see a convincing argument in favor of free-will. It is dominos all the way down. Causality.

religious fanatics blame freewill , for what any atrocity committed in the name of so called god , by saying god is not wrong but the person is in the wrong because god gave us freewill , what bullshit .
