How's your trivia skills where quotes from religious leaders is concerned? I've created a quiz that attempts to demonstrate how fundamentalism is essentially the same no matter what religion the fundamentalist belongs to. Check it out here.

I want to know where "management" (if you can call it that) stands. You (who models your avatar as a female version of Felch) have posted a public rebuke to me but have not done the same to the instigator; namely, Felch. Please, Grundgetta, tell me if I missed something. We have Felch's vitriolic post, below, and your rebuke of me . . . where have you made such a public rebuke to Felch?

Am I guilty for defending myself? Or is Felch guilty for attacking me? You're a moderator. Please tell me where the moderation is.

There's an entire group for Aspergers . . . but I can't point out how it affects me? Have you told Felch to lay off with the personal insults, already?

Free Thinker, lay off with the Asperger's, already.

Hi Roy,

The TOS are from NiNG, not Atheist Nexus. I think they're fine the way they are. Felch wants to "refine" the rules to his liking (see his "Posting Guidelines Flowchart" for details).

I posted a critical response to Felch's flowchart. In it, I point out much the same things I have here. Because of his Aspergers, Felch will continue spewing his acrimonious insults just as he always has. If you've never suffered his attacks, then he might seem like a curmudgeonly old grouch. He can be quite funny. That's not the point. The point is that he's a bully and self-anointed site censor. He needs to be reined in. Because of his Aspergers, he can't really control himself.

Just my observation.

1. A featured discussion "prominently" buried in the "Ideas & Site Suggestions" category of A|N. Note that there are 14 forum categories in all. It is safe to assume that a great number of old members (and especially new ones) are not aware that this has become a very contentious issue to date.

2. For the benefit of members, old and new alike, the guidelines must be set clear once and for all.

3. IMHO, an extra text box on the main page of A|N can go a long way to prominently and constantly remind members of these (recurring) issue/s.

Hi Orange,

Yes, it's highly unlikely that anybody would score high on this quiz. What I hoped to achieve was the realization, as you answer the questions, that ANY of the fundamentalists listed could have uttered the quote . . . regardless of his/her religion.

Not earth-shattering for us freethinkers . . . but perhaps eye-opening for others. At least, that's my hope.

As far as I'm concerned, Asperger's isn't a problem unless its effects are directed at me or leads to the Asperger's sufferer stalking other members. uɐƃoɹƃ ɥɔןǝɟ has been guilty, multiple times, of both these violations. I have warned him that if I find him stalking members again, I will come to their defense. Stalking is against the TOS, and if moderators won't stop it, I will be there to defend the victim(s).

It's the moderators who need to ensure that posts, like the one from uɐƃoɹƃ ɥɔןǝɟ, below, are stopped: particularly if he's stalking people. He is the instigator.

And of course, there is no rule of etiquette that a blog needs content instead of an introduction to a link that contains the content. Most of us (including you) do it . . . usually because of copyright reasons or because (as in this case) the content is only accessible through the link.

But this is beside the point: I should not have to suffer broadsides from uɐƃoɹƃ ɥɔןǝɟ, just because he has Aspergers. I know that A|N appears to be a major part of his life but it's the role of moderators to moderate. If you think it's okay for him to attack people in this way (and he does it a lot), then I would challenge your value priorities. There's no reason anybody should have to put up with this kind of crap; Aspergers or not.

As the instigator, uɐƃoɹƃ ɥɔןǝɟ opens the door to similarly insulting retorts . . . not that this is the most desirable way to retort. But I've tried being polite. In fact, a moderator intervened to commend my patience with his stalking and warned him to cut it out. That was a long time ago, under a different user I.D. When patience proved to be worthless and his harangue continued unabated, I tried arguing with him. But THAT is a real mistake. There's no end to it.

I quit A|N because of uɐƃoɹƃ ɥɔןǝɟ and the utter failure of moderators to protect its members from his frequent attacks. I'm not the only one who has quit or changed I.D.s because of him. I know of several and have the emails to prove it.

When I say, "Lord spare me these Asperger control freaks", I am justified by personal experience. My experience tells me that moderators all too often sanction or censor the victim instead of the instigator. By their actions, they are saying that not only do I have to put up with it . . . I can't point out the root problem: HIS ASPERGERS. This is a pity, because I've found that this response keeps him off my back for months at a time -- as opposed to patience or arguments, which only seemed to encourage him.

uɐƃoɹƃ ɥɔןǝɟ has taught me to cut to the chase. He's a control freak with a compulsion to insult members who violate his unspoken rules. He's a self-anointed site censor and A|N allows him to get away with it. Should we tolerate or humor him because of his Aspergers? Hell no. HE IS THE ONE THAT NEEDS TO QUIT HARASSING OTHER MEMBERS.

His so-called blog etiquette is NOT valid. The whole point of etiquette is to encourage harmonious exchanges in a social setting. His insults and attacks makes him the last person who should speak of etiquette.

And finally, I did not attack Aspergers. The anti-social, asshole-like, behavior IS WHAT ASPERGERS IS ALL ABOUT. It's the symptom. Some Aspergers sufferers are able to control (with meds?) their behavior. When they don't, they will likely produce asshole posts like the one, below. uɐƃoɹƃ ɥɔןǝɟ is a control freak and asshole because of his Aspergers. If the moderators won't sanction his behavior, I have every right to respond by emphasizing the role Aspergers plays in his attacks. If it keeps him off my back for a while, it's worth the stress of cutting to the chase and baring my fangs.
