Gulf oil spill - potential remedy from Villanova company

Some people pray for the oil to go away. Some people DO something. Here's a guy whose invention might actually save the gulf coast!

In what is promising to eclipse the horrific Exxon Valdez spill in Alaska, British Petroleum's exploded Deepwater Horizon well continues its interminable regurgitating of thousands of gallons of oil daily in to the Gulf of Mexico. Already costing the lives of 11 workers and creating untold damage to hundreds of miles of coastline, the creeping goo has already begun to contaminate shellfish beds and reach the coastlines.

While many churches are scheduling prayer meetings and services to plead for
the oil to stop pumping, Freethinkers applaud the government for stepping in, the wonderful citizens who are mobilizing to assist in the cleanup, and private contractors, who are offering new and novel ideas to remove the oil.

One such rather spectacular idea comes from a Philadelphia area man, Jim Lynn, CEO of Villanova based International Environmental Products, LLC who has patented the S-200 oil remediation product, which has already been used in numerous other, albeit smaller, oil spills around the globe such as the 2002 Prestige Spill off the coast of Spain. S-200 was originally designed as a remedy for minor oil spills, but has now proven effective on considerably larger spills, however, it has not been tried on anything nearly as large as the Gulf disaster.

Iknow what you mean. It astounds me that so many people's FIRST response to a crisis is to drop to their knees and pray. Then get up, and go watch tv or play games... promptly forgetting the problem since 'they've already done something about it'.

I was really impressed when I saw this bit on the news last night, about the oil condensing compound ... and knew I had to use that for today's story.

Vicariously proud to work in Philly, somehow. Anything that will actually do something. It is pretty obvious many thousands, perhaps millions, of people are praying for a miracle here. Interesting to me that there will likely be very few who give up on prayer when it doesn't make a bit of difference.
