How you can be informed of desired events in atheist nexus

I saw some of AN members complain about that there there is no way to be informed about new discussions or blogs ,comments and ... so I decide to write this post to guide them. Here I am going to introduce RSS and a feed reader so if you already know these subject this post will not be useful for you ( I know RSS is not new technology and many people already use it but still many other don't know any thing about it)
I ll try to write in the simplest way without any technical info or ...

What is the RSS ?

RSS es are web objects that by help of them we can be informed of whole of updates of a site or just desired part of that site. In other words RSS enable you to know about updates of your desired sites without checking and visiting those sites . For example you pursue news from NewYork Times Site and BBC and also want to be informed of last activities of some of your friend in atheist nexus. Checking all pages of these is really time consuming and boring especially when you check them and find no update ! To prevent this tedious job you can add the RSS of these pages to a RSS reader(feed reader) and after you did this job for one time you can easily find updates of all your sites and pages just by checking your RSS reader !

How Can I Find RSS ?

the RSS of pages is shown by on of these ways :
1 “RSS” or “rss” just these letters
2 one these icons :

(you can find them in many other colors too).

What is feed reader (RSS reader) ?

Feed read is a client software or a web base program that is used to use RSS . This program shows updates of your desired pages and sites in one place. There are many client feed reader software but I don't recommend any of them instead I recommend a free web base feed reader . It is “Google reader”. To use Google reader you must have an Google account (or gmail account or ...). registration is free.
After you registered you must sign in on google then you can access you reader by going to google home page and the choose “more” menu and then click on reader .

How can I add RSS to Google Reader ?

It s very easy you can do it by copying the link address of the RSS(for example by right click on the item and the choose “copy link address” or ...) and then pasting in “add subscription” part. Sometimes you can do it just by clicking on it and following the instruction .

If you use Internet more than an hour a day I promise that you will be addicted to it !!!
if my comments were ambiguous don't worry, there are many many instructions on Internet, just search for it.
