I vote for "Dangerous Talk" to be banned from A/N!!!!!

Dangerous Talk posts tons of things here and always closes comments. Its REALLY annoying and spam to use our site that way. He's also made it impossible to contact him without "friending" first, so I cant complain directly to him or in his comment sections. This is incredibly annoying and siphons traffic away from our site, and allows him to post without being able to be held accountable or debated fairly. I HATE IT!!!! Please kick him off our site!!!

Also I did apologize for my over the top emotional post above, and any words that have been hurtful towards the A/N member in question.

Id like to state for the record that I am happy with the way things turned out, and have promised to never directly pose a complaint at another A/N member to comply with the site rules. I would ask that this discussion remain intact as a historic record of how it all went, and the resulting conclusion.

I also would ask that in the spirit of the discussion, we leave it open, as should all discussions remain, because we cannot know the future and if someone may have something constructive to add in the future, they should always have the opportunity.

my blog post was deleted, so I left "think atheist". I thought it was fair to ask the community if blocking comments/deleting blogs was an ethical thing to do, and they deleted the post claiming "questioning their policy via a public discussion was inappropriate" Fair enough I suppose, but interesting to see. Here is the blog post mirrored if you are interested.

Interestingly, I posted a warning to "Think Atheist" another ning atheist network, and the admin promptly deleted my blog post, explaining that he didnt want any unnecessary "drama".

I responded by posting a blog post about whether or not it is right to enable comment blocking and deleting of posts. It will be interesting to see if that post gets deleted as well!

The problem here was, by disabling comments, he forced members of A/N who wanted to comment on some idea he posted to join his site and post there. It makes posting a comment in disagreement with the OP a bit awkward and also defeats this site in maintaining its community.

yup, an ad would have been a better route, plus simply enabling members to comment here OR on his site would have been sufficient and I dont think anyone would have complained unless he made a regular habit of deleting people's comments that he didnt like (which I understand was happening as well)

Now he might remove the link back here from his site and the "I'm a member" poster. I never visited his site before this blog post. There is just so many good atheist bloggers and not enough time. Must be an age thing because I can't read as much these days. His writings are pretty good for what I have read so far.

Maybe he could buy an ad on the A|N website instead if all he wanted was to get people to his site.

too bad, would have preferred to see him simply open up comments and engage us like a human being, but my suspicion was likely correct, he was just a selfish spammer and needed to be removed. Thanks the A/N staff for listening and responding to the community so quickly!
