Killing inspired by, directed by or committed by god

I’ve discussed in other documents the killing inspired by, directed by or committed by god in Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, and Joshua. Let me now turn to other killings by god or under god’s direction.

Judges: This brutal chapter of the old testament. There are six genocides: God selected the tribe of Judah to kill Canaanites and steal their land, the Jerusalem massacre, god assisted the massacre of three in Hebron, one in Zephath and one in Bethel. God sent a message via a knife blade in the belly of his messenger. The slaughter of the Moabites occurs in this chapter and of Philistines with an “ox goad, and the slaughter of Canaanites. Jael pounds a tent stake through a sleeping man’s skull.

“Then Jael, Heber’s wife, took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him , and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.” Judges 4.21

“Blessed above women shall Jael ... be, blessed shall she be above women ...

"He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish.

"She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples ... there he fell down dead. Judges 5."

Jeez, I am getting really tired of all these murders, slaughters, massacres directed by god or performed by him. Where is this god of love you talk about? Where is the generous, caring, compassionate, forgiving lord of your faith?

There's no question that Christianity is a cult of death worshippers.

The entire bible is drunk with blood. The Old Pesterment is full of it, and then it spills over into the new. How could sins be forgiven because of the shedding of blood? Why would it be needed and how is it possible? As a race we are just full of this and cannot escape.

Look at western movies (and movies in general) that have bullies and bloodshed, useless killings and revenge, or a desire for revenge. The hired gun comes in and solves everything. We think this is highly entertaining and watch with enjoyment and awe. In the bible Jesus is "the hired gun." He makes it right when nobody in the valley could. This mythos can be traced right back to the bible and other ancient writings. People eat this up. Look at the film series "Star Wars" and recall how the faithful whined because these stories had name changes but seemed to be ripped right out of the bible. The theists took it that Hollywood was making fun of their holy book rather than see the truth of where these stories come from.

Where is the god of compassion and forgiveness? Mostly in the mind.
