When I first joined Atheist Nexus, for personal reasons, I decided to do so under a slightly altered version of my real name. Circumstances have now changed and I think it is appropriate that I change my profile name to my real name - Chrys Stevenson.

I hope this won't cause too much confusion, but I have found keeping two identities on the internet is becoming unwieldy and unnecessary.

I'm not sure it's possible to overdo condolences, so I'll add mine, Chrys.

And Thisbe, your still life composition skills continue to astound.

Thank you sacha and Grundgetta. We're doing fine and getting a little better every day.

Thanks for asking, Thisbe. She is doing remarkably well. We're both very, very tired but we have the luxury of being able to rest. His wife is also coping well. Laughter helps, and luckily his memory makes us laugh.

Thank you Daniel. It's OK. He was sick for many, many years and his last weeks weren't happy ones. We were glad, for everyone's sake, including his, to see it over. Despite being a Christian service, the funeral was really quite beautiful - simple and celebratory. It's nice to have closure.

Thanks Tracy. It was my way of using my real name while still flying under the radar of my fundamentalist family. ;-) We had my brother's funeral yesterday, and everyone else (fundamentalist and otherwise) in the family knows about my atheist activities, so I'm 'fully out' now. My brother knew I was an atheist, but when he was very ill, I didn't want to rub salt in the would by having him find out how active I am.

How clever, the way it pronounces the same.

I have no problem with other people using pseudonyms. I understand that others have different situations to me. This is a personal decision based on the simple fact that there is now really no reason for me, personally, to continue using a pseudonym and that as a fairly 'high profile' atheist it was confusing when people met me in person. This certainly isn't a judgment of anyone else!
