i saw an interesting article in the times this morning. i guess there is a rise in "moderate islamic" televangelists and it has a "strong appeal for the youth”

while the mainstream american media probably thinks this is a great alternative to the radical fundamentalist islamo-fascist televangelists, it just makes me wonder...

christians have long had their religious-themed shows too...

and well, i just don't get it...

i mean, as "a youth" the last thing i wanted to watch was boring religious-based television.

the stunt they describe placing a wallet on the street and videotaping somebody stealing it and then asking them "what would the prophet mohammed do?" is just plain BORING. and wasn't mohammad a warlord? like the dude needed to steal somebody's freaking wallet.

and the fact that they have such an avid audience is what's beyond me. i mean, we have televangelists in the states, but i NEVER had a friend who actually watched. even devout christians pretty much blew that stuff off as a joke. but people in muslim cultures eat this shit up.

must not be anything better on tv. lol.

and yeah, it sickening that mainstream media in the west is so afraid of hurting islam's feelings that they don't have the balls to call a spade a spade. lame.

and yes, scary.

Markystar and Father Nature, you're both dead on. Islam is disgusting. It's the greatest threat to the free world today, and has always been a threat to the world in general. Bad as the other religions are, Islam makes them look like kittens. Political correctness and religious and cultural relativism are keeping us from seeing Islam for what it is--a savage, totalitarian machine.

I'm fearful for our freedom and our very lives.

My Balony Meter still registers 9.8. These islamic televangelists are about as "moderate" as Rick Warren. They still promote irrational thinking, bigotry, and oppression of women -just more subtle varieties. You can sprinkle sugar on a turd but it's still ... a turd.

If Muslims expect applause or respect from me for not openly advocating murder, they'll have to learn to live with their disappointment. I already expect that of any civilized person or society. It may be a step in the right direction, but, it's only a small first step away from the medieval thinking that dominates Islam.
