My son is so cool. He's weird and brilliant and thinks sideways. He just does things that blow my mind on a regular basis. Like his latest imaginary game - cannibalism. He grabs at my cheek, then moves his hand to his mouth to "eat" my face. I have no idea where he gets it, as he is three and largely non-verbal. It just cracks me up.
He also looks at thing differently, and I mean that literally. Since he was a baby, when he plays with toy cars he lies down on his side, and wheels them right past his face, for an up-close view. Sometimes he crawls in my lap (or, ya know, on top of my head) and sticks his eye right up to
mine, to check out the focus. He's learned how to take pictures with my camera phone, and he loves to do close-ups.
He also cracks up at just about everything. In the swimming pool, he thinks it's funny when I bounce a rubber ball off his head (I do, too) and in a field he laughs if I run up and knock him down yelling "Ka-boom!" Sometimes he blows raspberries on MY belly, as pay back. He actually requests
tickling, by sticking my hand in his armpit. He only says the names of a few animals ("goggy", "kitty", "hore" and "munky") but he can do the sounds for about 30, including a few he made up himself (like turtle, fish, and octopus).
He's unbelievably smart, especially with locks (frightening at times) and can put together jigsaw puzzles intended for 5 and 6 year olds.
He staged and took this photo. I love it.
