I cannot expressed my joy at finding a site of humans. All kidding aside, it is refreshing to view posts and videos of like minded people. My path to this point is rather round about. I was brought up going to Sunday mass at the local Catholic church, suffering through the mindless drivel foisted upon me at communion and confirmation classes. My first foray into rebellion was when I was in high school and told the priest that the Christian Utopia was a pipe dream and that communion was ritual cannibalism. I was told go and to never again grace the doors of his church. I then read book after book about Islam, Buddhism, Shinto, etc. Some interesting stuff. I even embraced the NEW AGE for a while. The point being, here I am.
I have lived in various places in this country. The most annoying was Virginia. It seems proper form that when you meet someone for the first time it is okay to ask what church they belong to by the third question. Woe betide those who answer anything but a Christian Church and worse yet, NO church. I usually deflected this by saying I wasn't sure about the churches in the area and that I'd get back to them on this issue.
Now I'm looking forward to being in the company of open minded, intelligent people.
