As always, you can also read this and comment at Good Reason News. Thanks for reading.

According to Tulsa World, a state lawmaker is urging Oklahomans to sign a morality proclamation “to acknowledge the need for a national awakening of righteousness.”

The Huffington Post posted the full resolution.

I'm lead to believe that the raving lunatic who is clearly behind this is this woman (pictured) Sally Kern. Who, reportedly said this"

Kern does what a lot of the more self-righteous theists do by throwing a lot of crazy ideas (that make most conspiracy theories look plausible by comparison), tossing them into a big pot and stirring it up until anyone equipped to respond is so baffled they don't know where to begin.

How did someone like Kern get into power? Who's voting for these types of people? What type of person is Kern?

Kern is a moral entrepreneur. She takes the opportunity to recast America's ever-evolving culture as fear. It's people like Kern standing in the doorway and blocking up the halls of social progress, but there's more to her "Good Reason" than just her convictions. The malicious ulterior motive is certainly her hunt for votes and her own success by the means that have made her successful throughout life — fear mongering and moral panic.

The harm done by Kern and others who profit off fear is abundant. Her approach is McCarthyesque and is bound to lead to more restrictions, more state and church integration, encourage more hate crimes, control thoughts and diminish minds.

Can't wait to see it. Yes, most of here are aware of her insane stupidity. Can't wait to see her fall.

This woman is driving me nuts. I think I'm going to be dedicating a lot of time to her. She's got some gall.

I'm aware of Bachmann too, Joey, but because Kern is making so much noise now, I'm taking her on. Expect a full expose on her soon.

Meh. It hasn't happened to Michele Bachmann yet. And she's brought loads more crazy to the world. Watch a video of her. Note the glazed "I will fucking kill you because Jesus told me to." look in her eyes.
Just the stuff they bothered to put on Wikipedia is enough.

There's no such thing as too crazy for the far right. These are people that consider centrist-rightwing democrats (Obama and the like) socialist monsters. They also consider any Christian more liberal than themselves to be bound for hell.

I have to believe, because I'm young and bright-eyed maybe, that most people in Oklahoma would be appalled if they knew what this woman was doing. I have to assume that this woman gets by on voter apathy more than voter support.

The good news is, she seems more likely to stick her foot in her mouth than Sarah Palin. I'm awaiting the day when she says something so stupid she's run out of politics forever. I just can hardly believe this doesn't qualify.

There are some of us here who recognize Mizz Sally for what she is...everything you stated above and more. We are disgusted by her narrowminded stupidity and activly counter her insane revings. BTW her husband is a baptist preacher....that should tell you something too.
