Allah would like to make the burden light for you, for man was created weak.

(Quran 4:28)

For none of us liveth to himself and no man dies to himself. (John 14:7)

The religious among us are delusional and willfully ignorant in so many ways. In

proselytizing to us heathens, they try to convince us that we need their god

because we are nothing and can do nothing without him. We were created to be

creatures who can only function by deriving all we are and all we do from

a spiritual source. We are mere receptacles for God's spirit to dwell in. None of

us lives or dies to himself.

During the lobotomy the religious cults perform on the weak minded and

unsuspecting, any trace of humanist postulations are incised. Ideas such as

man is a master of his own fate and can chart his own course or solve his own

problems are permanently eradicated from the mind of the victim. After all, only God is independent. What is left is a zombie who believes without question and

is happy to tithe ten per cent of his earnings to the church.

Perhaps humans as individuals are weak. But the great civilizations recorded

by history were built by human hands, not the magical words of an invisible

supernatural entity. It is us, working together, who have built great cities and

machines that can transport us across continents in a matter of hours. It is we

humans who get the credit for our accomplishments. It is we who share the

blame for our follies..

Helpless me? I don't think so.

Paul strong in his weaknesses. In my mind Paul is the moron that started this nonsense and put it into Roman thought. Later Constantine guaranteed that it all got passed on.

Growing up in a super religious household, I remember being taught this. In the Bible Paul 'boasts' of his weaknesses for in his weaknesses, he is strong. During my time as a theist, I remember buying into this idea, and it would be the perfect scapegoat when I didn't want to deal with something. Well, I'm weak...and let me pray about it...and that's that. It causes a lot of inertia, when we think that we are weak, and incapable of solving our own problems. Interestingly, God is never blamed when things go poorly, ever notice that? Only praised when everything is going right. I know all too well this ideology, and hopefully, more people will come to realize that it's not a good way to live their lives. But, everyone must find his/her own path in order to change that thinking.

Pray a lot and keep on believing what you know isn't so. Beware the Internet and do not go there unless you go to one of our religious sites. Oh, you can never believe what you read on the Internet, especially the things about god. We know how we want our Jebus cooked and we have cooked him just right. ROTFLMAO here.

Yeah, and the all-knowing gods of the Abrahamic religions, and the others I've heard of, never once predicted anything like modern democracy (the worst system of government ever invented -- except for all the others). Or modern birth control. Or space flight. Or the internet! Or cat videos on the internet. Or millions of people having access to a significant fraction of human knowledge and stupidity via wireless pocket-sized glowing rectangles.

Religious thinking comes in sometimes when you hear dumbass ministers claim that god intended for the races to remain separated and that's why we were divided by continents. Apparently god, who knows everything, was too stupid to realize that mankind would invent airplanes.
