So I was reading the Bible on SecularWeb and have come (no pun intended) across some lines that made me laugh.
18The woman also with whom
man shall lie with seed of copulation, they shall both bathe themselves
in water, and be unclean until the even.
In other words after you have sex you are considered unclean, and must bathe in water. First of all, is water the only thing necessary to clean yourself? And I hope everybody takes a bath or shower after having sex, or at least after you wake up. Second, if you are having sex you are creating life, like God wants, yet you are considered unclean.
Why did they never talk about this stuff in church? If it makes me unclean, even for an evening, wouldn't that be a sin in God's eye??
No wonder I became an atheist. I had my sister read this passage as well and she said she agreed with the Bible. I asked her why, and she said it "was the word of God." I then told her, "Then when you gave birth to your kids, are you saying they were the product of sin?" She never answered me.
She didn't think it was funny. I did.
