RNC's Michael Steele opposes employee family benefits????

Michael Steele, Chairman of the Republican National Committee, said today that gay marriage will hurt small businesses because the employers will now have to take on the gay spouse's benefits.

What is the difference between gay spouses' benefits and straight spouses' benefits? Anytime any employee gets married, the employer must deal with the benefits.

So is Michael Steele suggesting that employers should discourage ALL their employees from getting married to benefit their bottom line? Is he Michael Steele anti-marriage altogether?

Or is he just a bigot?

Another commentator suggested that Steele was thus endorsing (in states that do not allow same-sex marriage) the preferential hiring of gay people over straight people, because the gay folks will not force a benefits drain on the company's profits. Talk about supporting "special rights"!!!

If those stay-at-home moms want healthcare they need to work! (sarcasm) Cause you know, Steele and the rest of the Rs certainly aren't fans of socialized care like TANF, Food Stamps, and Medicaid.

No he like most Republicans is against family benefits being paid by an employer. Dont you know thats socialism, and we could end like Sweden and OMG what terrible thing that would be!!!
And of course he is against gay marriage. Many Rs dont hate gays as long as they stay in their place!! Why I left the conservative movement. Its basically the neo-capitalist, theocracy movement now!!
