seeking help for 2010 Atheist Calendar

the Atheist Fun Club is seeking help making a 2010 Atheist Calendar. It will have all the important "atheist holidays" and none of the religious holidays. Also, the theme is "Atheists are your neighbors and we are seeking photographs of atheist models doing ordinary things, for example, we have "Marissa is an atheist who is a student" (she is reading Origin of Species) and "Jules and Valentine are atheists who like to play chess"

thanks for the clarity. I wish you luck. I hope that you can find some interesting people who help mainstream atheism. Sounds like a great concept!

Hi -- I just got back from having a great time as a volunteer "cabin counselor" at Camp Quest West, the atheist/freethinker camp in the Sierras, and what I'd like to do with "Atheist Calendar 2010" is similar to their ambition -- I want the calendar to represent & honor atheist heros and values by commemorating the birthdays of all the atheist heroes, and for photos I want to show atheists doing normal "atheist" things, like reading "Origin of Species" or looking through a telescope or just having fun in our lives. At Camp Quest West I connected with student leaders at Stanford, UC Berkeley, and Cal State Fresno, so I think I will make the calendar with them, plus two other groups -- SF Atheists and Contra Costa Atheists. But I am eager to include people/organizations/photos from other states as well. What I want to do is create, motivate & celebrate an evolving Atheist Culture.

Thanks for your response. You don't need to kick yourself. People might think you are dancing. You don't have to respect Darth Cheney, if I don't have to respect Sarah Palin. Your skepticism is also appreciated - there are lots of spammers, stealth members, and other nefarious types that catch us off guard.

Hank, could you maybe elucidate a bit more in the calendar, and what you intend to display? Is it intended to be funny, or sexy, or wholesome and uplifting, or ? I don't know that you'll get a lot of photos, but it would help to have a bit more imformaton. By the way, what ARE the atheist holidays?

The troll image is hysterical, Daniel.

Yeah, uh... respect your elders, Stephen!

Uh, Stephen.... If I can peep under the rock for a minute? You are not off the hook yet, young man. WTF does being over 50 have to do with it? You ain't exactly a teenager yourself, if you get my drift. And if you were.... why would that result in less suspicion? Oh, OK, let's try 20s. No, still to much hormone. Maybe 30s? Better be safe, let's for for 40s - oops, that's you!

You know, there are men in their 50s who are caring for your grandmother's diabetes, your mom's breast cancer, your sister's ulcerative colitis, and your daughter's anxiety disorder. OK, you don't have relatives with those issues, but you get my drift. We're not ALL trolls.

I know you meant well, so I'll let you off the hook now. No need to crawl under a rock, in Corvallis if you stand still long enough, you'll grow your own moss.

Best wishes. Be nice to your elders, young man. :-)

Ha! "Méabh is an atheist who champions the rights of poor downtrodden plants"

I've been wrong before too Stephen, but this looks legit. Check out Mr. Hyena's website.
