Sadly, most people are Sheeple. Even some of those who claim to be freethinkers are being manipulated without their awareness thereof.
Blindly following programmed lives, conditioned from birth, just as their parents were, for generations, to be worker-consumers.
Nothing more, nothing less, just producing & consuming.
Conditioned to be distracted by NFL, the latest episode of FRIEND's, & Lady Gaga, to see, much less care about what's really going on behind the scenes, to look beyond their bubbles, their comfort zone, to see the truth.
If they do see it, they make sure to never to look directly at it, it's not their problem, not their fight.
As long as it doesn't directly effect them they ignore it like the dust in the corner.
Anyone starting to wake up yet? Hello out there, have your blinders come off yet?
You ask how thing have gotten to the point they're at now, I just told you.
Blind Eyes & Walled Hearts.
You ask why didn't anyone see this coming?
We did. We told you.
You didn't listen, didn't wanna hear.
You just lumped us in with the conspiracy nuts,
and refused the truth.

Thomas Murray -  Yes, introspection is hard, I know, but like most other things, the more you practice it, the better you get at it.  I've done a lot of introspection over this last year, and mentally, my life has made a huge turnaround.

Loren,Thanks for looking on the positive side of things. I also think that a lot of us here can have something poetic to say of our upbringing.

My wife and my past college teachers thought that I had the potential to be a writer..... and one university editor approached me to write for schools newspaper.

But the hard part for me was revisiting old wounds and the critical nature of my persona made it too difficult for me to write. Writing requires a lot of introspection and it is extremely difficult for me to set aside my emotions and to write clearly and concise stories.

Michael, thank you.  You're right, these things are everyone's problem.  I just cut off a friend the other day after I found out he was a Trumpster, a few of the things he said floored me.  During our last conversation there was a couple of things where his response was "what's that matter to you" or "how does that effect you".  People ignoring things that don't directly affect them is part of what's us gotten here.

Thomas, I see what you are saying exactly. Let me comment by saying something about my background. I was a child in a world where kids are seen and not heard. This always made me have a lot to say and it pissed my step-dad off. Maybe it still does.

If I mention or point out things like in your post his answer is always "Yeah, but what do you care? None of this is your problem."

I'm almost 71 and I beg to differ. These things are our problems.

LoL, not sure it'll stand in the shadow of that one, but that's a mighty fine compliment, thanks again Ben. ✌️️

Thank you again BenGee, I appreciate the feedback.  Here's another that came to being in the spur of a moment, again triggered by conversation.

Grumpy Trumpy's
building a wall,
Grumpy Trumpy's
angered most all.

Building more prisons
brick by brick,
Grumpy Trumpy's
a fuckin dick.

Endangering species
and poisoning our streams,
killing the forests,
I hear the Earth scream.

Resistance is rising,
listen, hear its call,
revolution's stirring,
the writing's on the wall.

BenGee - I've always had an artistic nature, which predominately was manifested in photography, & pen & ink.  I aced English/Lit. without hardly trying, but have never considered myself much a writer.  Just on occasion, something worth writing about comes to mind and generally writes itself.

I used to be more artistic in my writing (I also used to be much better with grammar too), however years of studying technical fields has impacted my communication style greatly. Part of why I write my blog is to find a balance between the two, as well as get used to sharing my thoughts and ideas openly. I always love to read, and its especially nice when someone offers up such edifying poetry.
