There was a recent news item on Danish T.V. where an opposition politician from the Social Democratic Party, Christine Antorini, said that the "Our Father" prayer should no longer be used in schools. "It belongs in church and not in schools. We have Christian, Muslim and Jewish children......"
I wrote to her expressing my support but pointing out that children do not get their religion via their D.N.A. but through their upbringing. Therefore it would be more correct to say children of a certain religious background and that there were also children from non-religious backgrounds, with a reference to Barak Obama's inaugural speech.
I received an answer within a few hours saying she agreed and that she would be more precise in her statements from now on.
Isn't it nice to be able to get something changed, even if it's only a few words from a public figure?
