How the hell can billions of religious people be dumb enough to believe the scriptural bullshit?

I’m glad I could turn you on to Darrel. He’s one of ours at A/N. He’s a social psychologist and quite astute. That was my thing in college but I got drafted and couldn’t go on to graduate school.

Check out my latest. I’m getting a little goofy in my old age, but it’s fun. As funny as this one is, there’s a sad truth behind it.

Thanks for sharing that wonderful story, Richard. Unruley otters!! :D

If ever coming back was an option, a river otter is what I would want to be. :)

As your story said, river otters are clever, intelligent, playful, can be down right silly. They just seem to have a terrific time here on earth. That's what it's all about.

I read a paper about the high of religion not to long ago. Among other things, the paper pointed out that the brain has reactions to religion similar to that of a hallucinagen. It was a facinating read. The reason I used high though, is because my friend refers to it like the high of cocaine.

I will watch the video about the hypnotism of religion and get back to you on it. I have never heard them compared.

Thanks, Mac. You're referring to the last line, I take it. I wrote that I long time ago; it's truer now than ever, methinks.

And, unfortunately Rick, most human apes are following them.....

Otter, Some like the "High" of religion. I mean high in a literal sense. I have been told many times that going to church is like a "high".

High is cool, but I think "hypnotized" is better. Check out A/N's Darrel Ray's video on this. Amazing.

I take it you're into otters. Here's a little story from my book. Beautiful stuff

She rested her head on his shoulder, rested her eyes on the shimmering wavelets, and spoke facing the windshield. “I once saw a movie clip on one of those nature programs on TV. Showed a pair of young sea otters – genus Enhydra – teasing a hungry polar bear. They were just about a year old, when they could feel confident leaving their mother’s side, awed by the splendor of the real world. They made little chirping noises at the top of a snowy embankment, and when the bear came rumbling after them, at the last second they skidded down the snowy sliding pond into an open water hole and disappeared. Then, as the bear stood confused at the top of the mound with a where’d-they-go look on its face, they stuck their heads out of the icy waterhole and appeared to be laughing, like it was a joke. The natural world is filled with joy and wonder; now the entire family of sea otters is dangerously near total extinction. I tell you big business, the government, and religion are leading the world down a blind alley.

I have asked myself that plenty of times. I think there are a few different answers to that question depending on who you are talking about.

Some people have been spoonfed religion from the womb.

Some are downtrodden.

Some have literally bumped their noggins.

Some like the "High" of religion. I mean high in a literal sense. I have been told many times that going to church is like a "high".

Some like the community.

Some can't let go of loved ones.

Some are all of the above and more.

Geez...I think this list could go on and on.

I wonder if there is anyone on this site that doesn't ask that?! ;}*
