The result of Home Schooling and Religious Education!

Here is a video showing what religious education and home schooling creates.

Some of you may find this very scary.

Education that emphasises Rational Critical Thinking, should be mandatory for all children.

Regardless of their parent's religion.

Don't you agree?

Dr. Stephen Uhl (former Catholic priest turned atheist and psychologist) urges us to be gentle with people as they unlearn superstition at their own speed.

My quote was entirely hypothetical, trying to imagine something that might not get enthusiastic acceptance if one of those child preachers said it. Those congregations likely teach that everybody must be "saved" into their religion, or else. (But many Unitarians, Wiccans, Jews, and perhaps liberal Christians, among others, would say that their god accepts us all, no need to convert; which as you said is a great improvement.)

Exactly Grinning, just the move from god hates fags, to god accepts us all, is a welcomed improvement.
I don't mind religious people when they lose some of their indoctrinated bigotry.

Just baby steps in the right direction is often adequate for our purposes.

A sort of evolution away from completely insane bigotry is what we are after.

Not a sudden conversion to god is irrational and all people are equal.

That will take a long time.

We just need the theistic brain to mature a little at a time.

This video shows everything that is bad about ANY religion. The problem is that the adults have no guilt when they do this to a child. They think this is how god or allah wants it to be. It's no wonder that religion promotes all the hatred, murder, and fighting and has done so from the beginning.

Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot. YOU have the one true religion. YOU and your god even like and hate the same things. What a revelation.

The Socratic method advocated by Peter Boghossian (A Manual for Creating Atheists) might be useful, even for talking with young street preachers. You could ask them about why they believe what they do, and gently introduce "what ifs", or examples of people holding conflicting beliefs supported the same way.

If you don't have patience for all the examples of indoctrinated children, Tom Burns returns for his commentary and editorial at 4:51.

Some scary stuff there, especially the cute rabbit promoting martyrdom, death over life!

"The day Islam" (or any theistic religion) "rules the world, there will be justice, love, and peace" -- for very twisted definitions of "justice", "love", and "peace"!

Somehow I don't think the audiences of those child preachers would be enthusiastic and accepting if a kid dramatically departed from the party line. "My friend Liz at school is Catholic. And that's OK! My friend Michael is Jewish, and he has two moms. And that's OK! Hailey is an atheist. And that's OK! God loves us all, just the way we are!"
