The world is actually a lot more boring than you give it credit for.  People, as with electrons, seek the lowest energy state.  People generally are far too lazy to really care full time about monitoring and controlling you.  No doubt some of this goes on, but people also like to relax and enjoy a fine meal.  Can't be world-dominating all the time.  Need a break now and again.  No doubt governments try to control people, but this process is not perfect.  The world is far too messy and complicated, and humans lazy and selfish, for there to be the level of conspiratorial organization that wacky people imagine.  Robots could do it, but not humans.  You should be more concerned about killer robots.

Did the Nazis have killer robots?

A WW2 history I read several years ago claimed that German soldiers - whether advancing, fighting in place, or retreating - were fifty percent more effective at killing than Allied soldiers.

A modern European history course I took several decades ago said Germany, before WW2, had three centuries of autocratic leaders.

Der, in short, yes.

There are certainly plenty of killer robots in Europe to worry about.

I lived where I had to climb a hill form where we park the car and then 2 flights of stairs. I am 10 years past a triple bypass operation on my heart and every time after getting inside the apartment I'd have to lie down and rest.  Moved down stairs in the same building, same hill climb to the building from parking lot, but no stairs and I don't feel near so tired.

It's flights of crows that usually get me

The killer robots in my life disguise themselves as flights of stairs.

Maybe like Killer Robots from Outer Space. The problem with such things is that usually you will find that conspiratorial ideas arise in inner space. When that happens beware of Killer Robots From Inner Space.
