I would like to start this year off by asking everyone..."what matters most" to YOU?
A little while ago, I read an old book by Hyrum W. Smith, the co-founder of Franklin Covey. That book was titled..."What Matters Most". Among other great points in the book, Mr Smith explained, that there just wasn't enough time in one day, to do all the things, that we "say" we want to do, each day.
Take emails. We receive hundreds of emails a day. Some of them are personal and some of them are of a business nature. Most of them would probably fall into the "junk mail" pile, which means that we shouldn't even bother opening them up. What matters most to us, about emails?
Okay, now how about our health? How serious are we, about "getting into better shape? Are we "working out" on a regular basis? Are we eating less of the wrong foods and more of the right foods? What matters most to us, about our health?
Next, our finances. Are we spending our precious, hard-earned money on non-important things? Are we saving enough money for our retirement? Do we have too much DEBT? If so, what are we going to do about it?
How about our present relationships? Since we do not have to "answer to a higher power" than ourselves, what kind of relationships "matter most" to us? Are we in the wrong relationship? Shouldn't we get out of that relationship?
Where shall we live? Some of us (like me) live in, or near the "Bible Belt" region of the United States...Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississipps, Louisiana, Texas. Shouldn't we be moving to states that have more Atheists, like Washington, California, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, etc, etc???
Every single morning, I get up, thinking about all these things! What about you? "What Matters Most" to YOU???
