You know what I love? Zombies! I can't get enough of them. Romero, Snider (yes, I like Zack Snider's Dawn remake. Don't give me your purist crap, it's a great movie), Brooks, Shaun of the Dead, Undead (great Aussie film).

What is it about the End Of The World that I love so much? On Snider's Dawn DVD, there's a great bonus short called "We Interrupt This Broadcast". It's presented as a series of news break-ins where you just watch the world totally unravel over the course of a day-and-a-half or so. I've watched it probably a dozen times.

And localized outbreak stories just don't do it for me, no matter how well crafted. It's gotta be grandiose. The more apocalyptic the better.Tear it all down. All of it. The more wholesale the chaos the more I love it. I've never been able to figure it out.

There's just something about the shit hitting the fan...

OK, I saw Zombieland last night. Good movie! Welcome addition to the genre.

Angry zombies seem to be winning out these days. Perhaps WWZ will be the return of the slow zombie...

I'm not much of a gamer, actually. I was never any good at video games. Except for tetris. I'm a master of tetris.

Nazi Zombies!!! Now that's can't-miss concept art.

Have not seem Zombieland yet (I've been very sick lately). I'll be seeing it soon. As far as World War Z is concerned, I'm, well, concerned. I was feeling really good about it based on Brooks' comments on the script, but I've seen info since that they've "scaled it back", which is very worrisome. Having said that, I'm seeing it as soon as it hits theaters, or, hopefully, earlier.

I think there's a Dark Side of the Moon tie-in here, actually. I'm thinking part of the attraction is the profound dissatisfaction with the mind-numbing mundanity of everyday life (Time / Breath reprise). If the dead start coming out of the grave, the tedium certainly fills it back in, that's for sure.

Seen Outpost? Zombie Nazis... almost the perfect 'beer and a curry' film. It would be perfect if the I could add the words 'Teenage' and 'Surfer' in there.

Have you had a chance to see Zombieland? It's not as funny as Shaun of the Dead, but still pretty damned funny. Personally I tend to watch zombie movies for the comedica aspect, but I'll admit that there's an appeal about the concept of the apocalypse. Think about it. No more alarm clock. No more job you hate, and countless years of bills, bills, debt and more bills.
