Where were you when 150 mph winds and record rains visited Houston. Where were you when people drowned when the water created currents strong enough to sweep away pickup trucks. Where were you when 52 inches of water destroyed homes and killed more than 70 people. Where were you when two-week-old babies drowned or their mothers were separated from them?

The answer is easy—nowhere! Despite the obvious of the absence of God, Evangelist Minister Kevin Swanson chose to blame it on Houston’s openly gay former mayor Annice Parker.  All around asshole, Ann Coulter, couldn’t wait to drop her two two cents into the dumb barrel by saying,“I don't believe Hurricane Harvey is God's punishment for Houston electing a lesbian mayor. But that is more credible than "climate change”[1]

Parker’s response cut deep. “I was dealing with busloads of people who’d been evacuated from eight and ten feet of water and I was focused on doing the right thing there,” she said. “So I didn’t look at Twitter for, like, three days. And so, it was a delayed response. Someone pointed it out to me, and I just started laughing hysterically. Something that absurd, that kind of mean-spirited, absurd remark, you don’t deal with – you don’t try to deal rationally with stupid. You just run with it.”[2]

End Times radio host Rick Wiles used his “TruNews” broadcast yesterday to declare that the damage caused by Hurricane Harvey is God’s punishment for Houston’s “affinity for the sexual perversion movement.”[3]

The pure ignorance of these comments can not be measured regularly except as Annise Parker pointed out, in levels of stupidity.

So, the obvious question is where was the omnibenevolent God of Christianity when his children need benevolence in spades? Of course, nowhere to be found or nonexistent. The latter is a better bet. What about the omniscient radar of the God know everything before it happens? Was it offline? Perhaps it lost power. Maybe someone pulled the plug or may be there never any power. What about the title of all-powerful on any level. Creator of the universe, Lord of all or was it Lord of the Rings. Where is he when his children suffer in Houston.Nowhere and he won’t be coming.

Instead, plain old people will be left to clean up his mess. People will do what he couldn’t—stopped the storm.

Joan: Trump lives better than princes. I wonder how he truly donated to charities over his lifetime. I'm sure not much. It has always been the privilege of the rich and make poor pay for it.

Joan-You mean the can't see it can't touch it God It would seem as if some of his employees would realize that none of their memos have gone unanswered. He is an absentee CEO. Excuse me, you have to exist to hold that position but if he did fed be drummed out for dereliction of duty and being AWOL.

Humans intervene in the tragedies of the world and they fail to intervene in others. Caring, compassion, and commitment exist in the human character.

Also does inattention, indifference, and denial.

We have to pick and choose those things that matter to us, to those things that others need from us, and those things we can't do right now.

Trump's living room, "Louis XIV-inspired ivory couches, candelabras and classical ceiling murals are a common sight in Donald Trump's £80million penthouse, while here copies of Vogue and Vanity Fair rest atop the coffee table, along with two bowls for sweets"

"To end child poverty we must ensure all parents and caregivers have the resources to support and nurture their children: jobs with livable wages, affordable high-quality child care so that caregivers can work, supports for working families like the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit, and safety nets supports like TANF, nutrition, and housing assistance to make sure children’s basic needs are met.

NO god has ever fed a hungry child, started a war or saved a concentration victim. It's always been people helping other people. Always!

Something that doesn't exist has a hard time being anywhere ... and when it is alleged to be somewhere, its actions tend to be contradictory and self-defeating, since nonexistent things can't DO anything.  Sorta like what the bible has to say about Yahweh ... or had you already noticed that?

Very well put Daniel!

Thank you Don, and AMEN.

Did the preacher count, how many among the dead, were gay?  The family with grandparents and small grandchildren, drowned screaming in their minivan?  Why drown them, and not single out gays?

Stupid preacher.  Trolling for money and trivial influence, by demonizing his favorite scapegoats.  What a loser.
