Why does god need my cable bill money? I have Suddenlink cable system, I pay about $95 a month for around 150 channels, this means I pay about $.63 per channel, now I know some channels cost the cable company more to provide (ESPN, FOX, ABC, CBS & NBC) all cost a lot more then the others but as a round number I will say I pay a $.50 each for each channel. The cable package I have comes with EWTN(the global cathloic network), DAYSTAR(faith based tv), TBN(trinity broadcast network), and INSP(inspiration network), I have NO choice but to pay for these channels if I want all the other channels that I get, this means Im giving about $2.00 a month to support the brain washing, stupidity spreading teaching of religion, now I know this is not a lot of money but if you add it up between all the cable customers it becomes a lot of money, Im sure Im not the only one that is upset by this as these channels only talk about christianity so its not only ripping off the atheist such as myself but all the other religions that are being left out by Suddenlink, there are only 3 ways to solve this problem, 1 they start to only charge everyone for the channels that we want and use(I think this is the best choice) for me this would only be about 10 channels witch would cost me about $5.00 a month, 2 they could make those channels pay-per-view like HBO or Showtime and such(even this would make me happy, I mean how many people watch those channels anyway?!) 3 they could just remove them from the cable line up to begin with(this would be the best choice for man kind). Now I know if Im the only one that goes and complains about this to the cable company I will get no where, but if enough people get upset by this and complain about it we might get somewhere, maybe even a class action lawsuite of the large cable companys might have to be done, we have to start somewhere though, I think a good start would be to send an email like this to your local cable provider.

Yeah well I suppose you have to pick and chose your battles. Keep fighting though! I hope in the end we can pick what WE want to watch and pay for only that. It seems easy and thats the problem...its too easy.

as far as getting over the air channels that really is not an option for me, I live out a little bit I would only be abile to get 2 maybe 3 channels over the air, plus the ones I do watch are not over the air broadcast anyway, things like TSC, TLC, USA and BBC are not over air channels and on top of all that my internet comes from my cable company as well and Ill be damn if Im going to cut that off!! I do agree with Bill S on the history channel, I use to watch it alot but it has turned into the bible history channel

I have to agree with Ryan, cut your cable off. I wouldn't pay that amount of money for 150 channels, of which I may only watch a few of them. I bought an antenna and can pull in FREE local HD channels. Screw the cable czars and their deprogramming of the human soul. They make us buy these so-called packages so they can make money and they don't seem to be willing to sell channels a-la carte. It's a shame but its all about profit and greed to them. Customer service? LOL But as Ryan mentions below, TV and Church are probably the two biggest wastes of time. Its the deliberate dumbing down of our nation through mass media.

But on the other hand I won't be a hypocrite and say I don't watch any movies. Sure I do. But I get them "other ways". I got a library card not long ago and the selection of movies isn't the best but its another option for my movie collection.

I'm an Apple fan so hearing about what Steve mentions would be a nice alternative if your set on having cable or your television shows.

I can't decide which is a bigger waste of time, watching television or going to church. They both keep people sedentary and ignorant. They both cause minds to become weak and atrophy.

I am speaking from experience, I went to church 3x a week for 20 years, and I watched TV for at least 2-3 hours a day for almost 30 years. Its only been a year since I unplugged myself from satellight television, and its been an incredible experience. Ive learned all kinds of new skills, started hobbies I had no idea I could do, and every day seems too short to get everything done in. I cant even imagine having 2-3 hours to waste watching television.

I still watch movies at home, probably 2-3 a week, and really enjoy it, but I feel like I got my life back.

So, my advice to you is to cut off your cable, then you can both stop supporting idiot religious networks AND get your life back. Its a win-win!
