Hey, B&O is decent gear. As it happens, I own a B&O 9000 cassette player (ANCIENT technology, I know!), which does a very credible job of dealing with my cassettes, some of which I recorded myself from 1/4 inch master material (I used to work as an audio engineer).
As for ol' Rach ... man, you said the MAGIC WORD! Just listened to his 2nd Symphony at Severance Hall a week ago Saturday and it was EXCELLENT.
Dude, that's awesome! I'm actually a bit of a techno-snob in that regard...Three words: Bang and Olufsen.
I used to be heavy into classical music when I was a musician, but I listen to it less since I got into old-school jazz. ACTUALLY, my SO and I use the term "Oh My Rach" (Rachmaninoff lol) instead of OMG...
Loren, It could be possible I made her think for the first time in recent memory. I generally have no problem getting those around me to think, the only problem I face is getting them to think I am something other than the anti-christ. hehe
Thanks loren, I was wearing this shirt at one my local grocery stores and a young couple stopped me and asked for permission to take a piture of it for their facebook page. That made me feel rather pleased with myself but not nearly as much as when the slightly older cashier asked to read it. Seems she hadn't noticed it until it was pointed out. I do believe I offended her sensibilities. It was the first time I wasn't thanked by this individual for shopping and invited back. This shirt never fails to generate the same old agruements concerning choice. That gives me at least one more chance a day to share my point of view at someone else's request.
So you are writing a letter about this anti blasphemy nonsense eh? Good for you! Please, let us know of any response you may get, I live in Canada and I'm very curious to know how US officials plan to handle this, for lack of a better word, crap.
Thank you. At the moment I'm just trying to decide where to start posting things. I see a lot of people posting blogs, some postind discussions, and others posting in groups. Not sure which would be best. I want to bring over some of my writings from EP, I'm just not sure where to begin.
EP has turned about as backwards as this ridiculous fundie town I live in. Still trying to learn the ropes of this site but so far it is very accomodating to say the least. It is definitely nice to see a lot of familiar faces on here...plus a Richard Dawkins group where he gets the respect he so rightly deserves.
"The whole black-hot, white-common in AC wiring always struck me as being a bit odd, with my DC Red-hot, Black-common background, starting in high school. I suppose if you wanted to dig, you could find out."
Maybe, but it may also be buried in myth. All I can think of is the hole theory vs. electron flow conundrum. Electronics people use different language than Electricians. This may be tied to language and thought designed to make you think like an electronics type rather than a electrician type.
"Greets, yourself. One thing: just what happens when you take this red wire and this black wire and put 'em together...!" ZaPPP.,
Say, do you know why in AC the hot is black, and in DC the ground is black? I suppose it has something to do with hole theory, rather than electron flow.
I've seen a few electronics people connect AC power up with the black to ground causing circuit breaker trips and fuses to blow because of this confution.
