Well, I figured the odds were against there being another "Loren Miller for Ohio", although I didn't know you attended the FFRF gathering. I've thought about going, but since they publish all the speeches, I stay home.

I'm assuming it was you that submitted a letter I read in FFRF's magazine. I said, "I know that crazy guy!"  I've had one letter published before.

Thanks for the video link. He plays a lot better than I do, but I could say that about almost anyone.

OK, you've been given another chance. Don't be asleep at the wheel again this time, guy! This could be the last end of the world you ever get to witness.

A winter poem for you Loren:

Winter is the king of showmen,
Turning tree stumps into snowmen
And houses into birthday cakes
And spreading sugar over lakes.
Smooth and clean and frosty white,
The world looks good enough to bite.
That’s the season to be young,
Catching snowflakes on your tongue.
Snow is snowy when it’s snowing,
I’m sorry it’s slushy when it’s going.

Thanks, that's Ella. That photo is my laptop wallpaper. Btw, I bought VIP tickets to the PA atheist conference in September. VIP tics entitle one to extra hang-out time with the speakers. This year that includes Seth, Matt Dilahunty, and Aron Ra. I am very excited!

I can't believe that either.  We have both been on the site since the Mastodons bellowed their deep, sad, songs, across the American savannahs.

I'm glad you enjoyed your time here! Next time you should try the chili crab with hot buns; it's one of my favourite special-occasion dishes. (: Thank you for the welcome!

Thanks Loren, for the lead to The Midterm Elections Will Drastically Affect Humanists. I tried to get a link to the author and have a little chat. Then I decided I would do my thinking in public so others can smash my reasoning and tell me where I am all goofed up. But I don't have time to think it through right now.

Basically, it is that Democrats have a tough time organizing ... the old herding cats syndrome ... and I see it as an organizational problem to be worked out through strategy. He hits the nail on the head. Now what?

Loren, is there a way to block a specific person from showing-up in my e-mail?

Oh Loren, you torture me. I love Kahlua and Cointreau and they play terrible tricks on my diabetes. Actually, the liver is what is thrown off track and creates pain like you would not believe. I love alcohol. I love beer. I really love Glenmorangie single malt Scotch. These are loves of the past. I'll do the coffee, whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Thanks.

Cheers Loren. NIce to meet you. My name's Link by the way. Been away from YT for a while, but recently returned and feels nice to be back. Only came across Atheist Nexus a few days ago, but seems like a engaging space. All the best.

Judge Posner wrote the opinion. This may come as a surprise, but Posner was appointed to the federal appeals court by none other than Ronald Reagan. However, as the Republican Party shifted further and further to the extreme right, he distanced himself from it. If you can get the audio link that recorded the oral arguments, it is fascinating. Posner politely rips the opponents of marriage equality a new one.

I tend to agree that the next President will be a woman. It will, in all probability, be Jeb Bush v. Hilllary Clinton. My $$$ is on Hillary, just because the Bush name is a gross anathema. If so, the teabaggers will continue to obstruct anything to improve or advance the US. I listen to them scream "I want my country back." Me? I want want my country forward.

Loren, sorry it's taken me so darn long to get back to you about Boehner's lawsuit against the President. You're correct in that I found it...well, not interesting from the standpoint of Boehner...but more of a bad episode of bizarre theater here in the US.

The author of the article in Daily Kos is 100% correct in that federal courts, unlike state courts, are courts of very limited jurisdiction. The only cases federal courts can hear are those enumerated in the US Constitution,an interpretation of a provision of the Constitution, or what what Congress authorizes them to hear.

Here's the real underlying stupidity of this lawsuit. Congress could pass a statute giving federal courts jurisdiction to hear this case. Before it goes into effect, guess what chief executive of the US government has to sign it into law?

The whole thing is nothing more than a propaganda ploy to get the true believers would up like a group of striped nosed baboons in a primate house throwing feces against the wall. The mid-terms should b interesting.
